Frontline 2/17

What we covered tonight:
Tonight we talked about what we can learn from Samuel.  We are never too young for God to speak to us and use us in incredible ways.  On top of that, we see that our actions really do speak louder than our words.  When Samuel approached the people at the end of his time in charge (1 Samuel 12), he asks if they have anything against him, but they testify to his honesty and integrity.

We also talked through an article that ran on CNN a few weeks ago about an Atheist mom from Texas.  She lays out 7 reasons she has decided to raise her children without God.  We will return to a discussion on this article in 2 weeks, but I strongly encourage you as students to continue to wrestle with what you read.  Please remember that I am always willing to talk about this with you further. 

Winter Retreat:
Please be at church no later than 7:15 PM this Friday to pack up for the retreat.  We are leaving at 7:30, so be sure to be at church plenty before then :-)  Remember to bring your Bible, your favorite journal and warm clothes (wear them on the bus since it's not heated!--it'll save room in your bags, too!)

Please do not bring any movies that are rated R.  We will not watch them on our retreat.  Be considerate of others with what you choose to bring and leave behind.
